If you are the daredevil kind and adventure sports does not give a chill through your spine than Sivasagar Flying Carnival should be your next travel destination. A village on the Sivasagar Dichangmukh road is chosen to host this unique Para-motoring(Para-Gliding) event shortly.
The Flying Carnival will be a two day even staring from Feb 2nd 2014. The location is Kukurapohia. The carnival is organized by Cross Country flying Club in association with Assam Tourism Development Corporation and the Sivasagar district administration. Cross Country Flying Club is an orgnization based in sivsagar district of Assam in the North Eastern part of India. As per official declaration the cross country Flying club members are mainly Paramotor pilots. The objective of the Club is to "organize an annual flying carnival at Sivasagar". The upcoming Flying Carnival will promote aero sports in the North Eastern Region.
There will be particiapations from all over the country and among them 25 participants have confirmed their participation. The paramotorists participation in the carnival will come from Guwahati, Shillong, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Aurangabad. Events like this has been organized earlier in Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
The location at Kukurapohia village in Sivasagar is Doh Pothar which is 1.5 kms from the national Highway on the Sivasagar Dichangmukh road. So it is advised to plan according so as to not miss the scenic beauty of Brahmaputra river just a few kms away and the hospitality of Mishing village in Dichangmukh area. It is learnt that Paramotoring or Paragliding can be performed in a football field itself and known to be the cheapest from of flying.
